Miniature Railways offer both a fun and revenue earning attraction, to be enjoyed by all members of the family.

There are now over 160 passenger-carrying commercial miniature railways in the United Kingdom alone, the earliest dating from 1911.

They are running in country and town parks, theme parks, zoos, farms and wildlife parks, garden centres, stately home grounds…. the list goes on! It just proves the huge market base they fit into.

There are two services which miniature railways generally provide:

• Operating from A to B as a transport function, which could be end-to-end, a circuit or including a loop to turn the train e.g car park to car park, or one part of site to another, linking attractions.
• Simple pleasure ride

There are three well-established gauges in the miniature railways, all of which we are able to cater for

7 ¼ inch – Ideal for those with lower budgets, lower site volume, single operators
(Below 40,000 visitors per annum)

10 ¼ inch – Allows sit in all weather coaches, increased passenger capacity
(40,000 to 75,000 visitors per annum)

15 inch – More expensive, but highest capacity and more comfortable
(75,000 + per annum)
