Craigtoun Park Railway

MRW Railways Ltd restored and operated the 15 inch gauge miniature railway in Craigtoun Country Park near St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. The line runs for over ¼ mile round a boating lake in scenic surroundings.

The railway was originally installed in 1960 by Fife Council, and upgraded in 1975 to a larger gauge. Having run successfully for many years, in 2011 the decision was taking to close the parks’ facilities, including the railway due to council financial constraints and required renewals.

We approached the council and took over operation, completing track repairs, upgrading station areas, signage, carriages, and brought a newly restored locomotive to operate trains.
